I have progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). I had my first relapse when I was 29 and diagnosed two years later. I managed my MS through my diet for many years. But my health started to decline again when I was about 40 years old, so much so that I had to stop work. I moved into a rest home for full time care when I was 44 and lost the ability to walk unassisted a few months later.
A year after moving into the home, I contacted Helen. I had already changed my diet to include the Gundry diet, FODMAP, vegan (later reintroducing fish), plus avoiding a long list of foods that had shown positive in my (IgG) intolerance tests. I felt I wanted to do more to improve the balance of my diet to support my health.
I prided myself on being an independent person, and I was doing everything I could to keep as independent as possible. I wanted a professional to help me to work out what I could influence.
I liked Helen from our very first meeting at the Initial Consultation. She took the time to listen to how I was feeling and what I was most challenged with. I took comfort that she had trained with Dr Wahls and had knowledge about my condition and how diet could impact it.
Helen made a number of positive recommendations for me to adapt my diet and improve the balance of nutrients I was taking in inventive ways. We added collagen powders, activated nuts, coconut powders, new snack foods, and reviewed my supplements.
Throughout our time together over eight months Helen has gone above and beyond in helping me. She has shown true compassion, allowing me to discuss and explore all aspects of my health and life. If you are looking for help in your health journey, I highly recommend Helen.
